Punggol Nasi Lemak - Great food to end our food tour!

Food Tour Part V
Punggol Nasi Lemak! What a great dish to end our food tour!
We’ve been craving for their nasi lemak since weeks ago and it was only now that we got a chance to eat!
Must order items: Fried Chicken Wings & Tempura! Fingerlinking goOd~
*We shared the chicken wing and tempura*
Janelle’s nasi lemak: egg, lady's finger, long beans, fried chicken wing
Photobucket
Angeline’s nasi lemak: egg, tempura, long beans, ikan bilis
Photobucket
The rice was very aromatic. You could smell the sweetness of the coconut milk just by sniffing it! (A: However, I feel that the rice was a bit sticky that day. But still delicious!) The chicken wing and tempura was soooo C-R-I-S-P-Y! Prawn was sooo fresh and crunchy! Chicken wing was crispy and juuuiiccyy~ We're like OMGosssshh!
The long beans were pretty normal. We thought the lady's finger was much better. Not too soft or hard and we enjoyed biting the seeds.
A: Janelle does not eat chilli and ikan bilis. So I'm here to try out for you guys! The ikan bilis I dare to say is the best in sg! The ikan bilis was much smaller than those I've tried outside. Fried to perfection! Crispy even till the last bite! The chilli was sooo shiok! I even asked for more chilli! It's drier and has the Ooomph factor!

J's & A's rating: 4.25/5 rice, 4.5/5 chicken wings, tempura, ikan bilis & chilli

The Taiyaki VS Mr Obanyaki!

Food Tour Part IV
4th Item of our 1 day food tour was.....Taiyaki! Spotted this newly opened Taiyaki at Ion Orchard and we can’t resist buying one after seeing “Premium Azuki” as one of the flavours! The way they make the taiyaki is so different from the one at Takashimaya. Do have a look when you happened to be there! They have many exotic flavours which we have not seen before!
Photobucket

However we decided to get our Premium Azuki Taiyaki ($2)! We waited for sooooo long!
Finally it’s ready!
Photobucket
Photobucket
First bite...
The pancake was crispy but it tasted rather plain. However, it is definitely much thinner than other taiyakis. They spread only a thin layer of batter onto the mould before adding generous amount of fillings.
You can tell from the photo that the colour of the pancake was much lighter compared to Mr Obanyaki.
BUT, we do like the premium azuki red bean paste! Chunks of red beans were given generously and was not just the “paste” only itself! You can feel the individual azuki beans and even their skins in your mouth!
(A: We both love the azuki red beans here but I feel that I prefer Mr Obanyaki in Takashimaya. The pancake was more fragrant compared to the one at Ion Orchard. Why can’t I have the best of both worlds?! )
J's rating: 4.5/5 azuki red bean,
A’s rating: 4.25/5 azuki red bean, 3.5/5 taiyaki pancake alone

Haato- follow your heart...

Food Tour Part III
There's always room for desserts, especially after a satisfying meal. We headed to Haato @marina square (inside subway) for waffles & ice cream!! Their gelato are manufactured in Singapore created from traditional recipes from Japan. Read from the website tt there's a wide selection of ice cream flavors but was kind of disappointed when some of the flavors tt we wanted to try were not there.
We are still actively searching for our number 1 waffle after the major waffle & ice cream giant, Gelare, closed down most of its oulets :( Haato's waffle is gd in terms of texture, crispy on the outside, soft n fluffy in the inside. However, we feel tt it was lacking in flavor and is pretty bland on its own. Oh yes btw, u can actually request for maple syrup at no extra cost! :) $6 for single scoop ice cream waffle. $3 for additional scoops of ice cream.

J & A's rating: 4/5 for waffle
Our all time favourite ice cream flavor is cookies & cream and black sesame. Haato certainly made the mark and did not disappoint! (J: I've always preferred cookies & cream ice cream where u can find chunks of crunchy oreos instead of the soggy ones. Scoopz @parkway used to impress me every time but recently when i tried, their oreos weren't as crunchy as last time. ) The oreos were certainly crunchy and our only complaint is tt their oreos were overcrushed, resulting in fine, tiny weeny oreo bits. Please give us some oreo chunks~

J & A's rating: 4.25/5 for cookies & cream ice cream

The black sesame ice cream was bursting with overwhelming sesame taste, yummy~ Again, we wished tt they can add more bite to this ice cream by incorporating some black sesame seeds.

J & A's rating: 4.3/5 for black sesame ice cream

We will certainly be back again to try other flavors!

The Asian Kitchen- Decent Food at Affordable Prices

Food Tour Part II
Decided to head to The Asian Kitchen for lunch when we can’t get a table at Royal China!! >.
*We didn’t reserve a table though. Lol! *

Avocado Frost
Was expecting something like avocado juice with crushed ice but tasted creamy?? More like a avocado milk shake than frost.
(A: I’ve never tried avocado juice before so I’m not too sure how does one taste like. It was pretty exotic for me.)
(J: I want to try the king avocado juice from Mr Avocado!!)
Photobucket
A & J's ratings: 3.75/5

Fried rice with luncheon meat
This fried rice was so fragrant! Not too oily & salty. The grains were firm and separated. So unexpected!
Photobucket
J & A’s rating: 4/5

Xiao Long Bao ($3.90 for 4)
We feel that skin was a bit chewy and the soup of the xiao long bao could be better. However, it’s still worth the try for that price! We ordered 2 in the end!
(J: The pork inside the xiao long bao isnt tt pink n juicy too.)

Photobucket

Photobucket

J's rating: 4/5, A’s rating: 3.75/5

Soft Shell Crab ($8.90 for 2)
Omg!! We love the gravy!! It reminds us of chilli crab! Sweet, sour & a little spicy. How we wished that they serve fried mantou here! The crab was full of crab meat but it could be crispier compared to the one we had in Café Oliv. Café Oliv uses biscuit fritter which gives its soft shell crab the crispiness and we think tt flour batter was used in Asian's Kitchen. But the soft shell crab with the gravy was incredible! Without any mantou, Janelle and I had the gravy with our fried rice! Yummlicious!
Photobucket
J's & A’s rating: 4.25/5

Shui Jing Bao
This shui jing bao was not what we expected.
(A: I supposed the skin should be transparent but it’s white in colour here. The skin tasted more like mochi to me.)
(J: I didnt really like it bcos its sticky n too chewy. I'm not sure if its e right word to describe but e red bean paste was too pastey n thick for me. I prefer the premium azuki where u can actually taste n bite e red bean in e paste!)
Photobucket
J's rating: 3/5, A’s rating: 3.5/5

Fried banana with red bean
This tasted a bit like goreng pisang with a bit of red bean paste inside. It was served with some sweet sauce which we’ve yet to figure it out what it was. Haha..
Photobucket
J's & A’s rating: 3.5/5

We feel that The Asian Kitchen is still worth the visit for their price and some unexpectedly good food and exceptional services. Food were served promptly and they even changed out cutlery and serviette after our mains for desserts! Next time we would try out their la mien.

Provence- Overly rated?

Food Tour Part I
Woke up early today to start our 1 day food tour! With high anticipation, we finally made our way to Provence at Holland Village!
Here are some of the bread that we’ve tried:

Provence No.1 best seller – Milk Pan
We got it straight from the oven! It was still hot when we eat it. However we feel that the bread was not soft enough. The milk custard was not bad though. Strong fragrance of milk when you bit into it. However we feel that the Raisin Cream Cheese Bun from barcook bakery was way better!
Photobucket
Photobucket
(J: Somehow, the combination of the salty bun with sweet milk custard did not appeal to me. I was also expecting the cream cheese to ooze out like hot lava when i bit into e milkpan but oh well. If i had not tried barcook before provence, i would probably have fallen in love with milk pan but e winner was clear upon comparing provence's milk pan with barcook's raisin cream.)

J's rating: 4/5, A’s rating: 3.75/5
Next, we had the blueberry bun.
The bread was much softer than the milk pan. More cakey in the texture.
(A: Actually I prefer this than the milk pan! Haha! Full of blueberry fillings!)
Photobucket
Photobucket
J's & A’s rating: 4/5

Black sesame cream cheese bun
Strong black sesame and cream cheese taste! The top was crispy and somewhat similar to that of a croissant. (A: The cream cheese flavour was just too strong for me. Don’t really like it.)
Photobucket
(J: The bun was tad too sticky n hard and the cream cheese felt like a cold cheese stick.)
J's & A’s rating: 3/5

And finally, the chocolate wassant.
The wassant is soft but it lacks the chocolately taste. It taste pretty normal for us.
(J: I was expecting a croissant size bun n boy, its really small!)
Photobucket
J's & A’s rating: 3.25/5

Conclusion??
Well, people have different taste & views for good food. Provence is not as fantastic as we thought. We won't go to holland v specially just for Provence but wouldnt mind dropping by if we r nearby. Luckily, Provence has stepped foot into Orchard Ion and we dont have to travel tt far anymore! So, we will just stick to our Barcook Bakery! Raisin Cream Cheese Bun! So addictive, so soft & so irresistible!!

Seng Hong Coffee Shop- Innocent Temptation, Blast from the Past~

J: Innocent temptation, tts how i will describe u... U look sooo o-r-d-i-n-a-r-y when i first met u. I knew i was wrong when i first had u. My eyes lit up immediately... U r simply e-x-t-r-a-o-r-d-i-n-a-r-y~ I melted when u greeted me with immense softness n warmth... Moist, fluffy n chewy too. Peanut butter erupted from ur sides when i sank my teeth into u... There was no choice n i knew i had to act fast. I always had a soft spot for liquid peanut butter instead of e sticky skippy ones... Though it was extremely unglam, pls pardon me for sucking every bit of peanut butter tt oozed out from ur warm body. My heart was crying out badly for u when i finished every last bit of u, even licking e peanut butter tt stained my fingers... It was then i knew tt 2 isn't enough for total satisfaction. Before i knew it, i had asked for another. U r simply divine n perfect, hidden in this little corner of lengkok bahru. I would gladly trade any crispy kaya toast just for u, my love~ Tempt me no more~
Steamed lothi with peanut butter $0.50

Kopi-O siu dai
The kopi-o though, was too sweet for me even though i requested for less sugar. It was decent, but not thick enough.
Total bill: $2.70 for 3 lothis with peanut butter, kopi-o, 1 egg
J's ratings: 4.8/5 steamed lothi with peanut butter, 4/5 kopi-o siu dai

Ochacha- Ohhh sooo goOd~ Ohhh sooo baD!

We’ve been to Ochacha a couple of times for their famous macha drink. Our favourite drink is Ochacha silk (green tea powder + soya milk) which is thick n creamy. Never ever order it in cold! The Ochacha silk will be diluted by the melting ice. We’re back again once more to try out other yummy goodies!
Ochacha Silk ($4.80)
*1 for 1 Mon – Fri from 3pm – 6pm!*
J's & A’s rating: 4.25/ 5

We ordered the matcha cotton cupcake BUT it was so disappointing!! Although it was green in colour, there was no matcha fragrance at all! In fact, it's tasteless. The texture of the cake is more of a sponge cake than a cotton cake. We did not even manage to finish half of the small cotton cake!
(A: I thought pandan chiffon cake was way nicer than this. Much softer, spongier & full of pandan flavour. LOL)
Matcha Cotton Cupcake $2.90
J's & A’s rating: 2/5

Now came our unexpected surprise!! With the discontentment we had earlier. This Sakura Egg Sandwich definitely lit up our evening!
Sakura Egg Sandwich ($4.80)
We were SPEECHLESS when we took the first bite.
Silence for a moment....
It was DELICIOUS! We can’t describe the taste BUT YOU GOTTA TRY IT! This was the BEST EGG SANDWICH we’ve ever tried! It’s an extraordinary egg sandwich! That’s why it tasted sooo good! The bread was so soft! Definitely softer than cedele’s bread! We can’t find any words to describe this sandwich bcos its neither sweet, sour, salty, spicy nor blah blah blah but the taste of it is certainly one of its kind... U can be sure that you will not end up in disappointment!

Nam Seng Noodles & Fried Rice- Everyone Loves Grandma's Food!

J: Brought mummy to Nam Seng at Far East Square today for lunch. Managed to meet the legendary Poh Poh who has served signature Cantonese dishes for almost 50 years! She supervises & mans the cash register while her staff whips up the dishes. I ordered wanton mee for myself and venison horfun for mummy.

The wanton mee served here is unlike the dry wanton mee elsewhere where they r served with ketchup sauce or the black sauce. I'm not really sure of the sauce that they used but I think that the noodles and sauce complemented each other really well! As I'm not a fan of charsiew (bcos i find them dry & hard, so i shant comment on it), I actually finished the entire plate of noodles with veg & sauce alone! It's really delectable~ However, I think the noodles can be more "Q" or springy. The next thing I wanna rave about is their soup & wanton! OMG~ they r d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!! I almost finished e entire bowl of soup on my own n both me n mummy love e wanton~

A: I wonder why I don't eat wanton mee previously. This wanton mee here is sooo good! Springy noodles withour the sour taste which i hate in yellow noodles. And their wanton here is defintely one of the kind! Where else can you find such a delicious wanton! No complain at all! Thin skin + full of meat fillings! The meat is so fresh! However i feel that the char siew could be better. It lacks the bbq taste which could bring out the flavour of the char siew. I feel that it could be more juicier!

Wanton Mee $4
Just look at e skin of e wanton... It's really THIN n SLIPPERY. I bet grandma has no problems finishing dozens of wantons all by herself! Upon sinking ur teeth into e wanton, e succulent pink minced pork greets u warmly. Yes, $4 for wanton mee can be a little on e high side but they're generous with e charsiew n wanton! I think there r 6 wantons if i rmb correctly n loads of charsiew as seen in e pic!
A & J's ratings: 4.25/5 for noodles with sauce, 4.6/5 for wanton & soup!
I cant really comment on the venison horfun cos ive only had 2 spoonfuls. But mummy loves it so much tt she kept a name card n said tt she will be back again for more! :D Personally, I think tt the gravy is rather light. Light? Yes, usually for such gravy, they're salty but not grandma's horfun gravy. I feel tt it will be better if black pepper r added.

Good Morning Nanyang Cafe II- Good morning, ginger~

J: This time round i ensured tt i brought my camera out but guess what? I left my SD card in my laptop!! omg not again!! :( The following pics were taken using my hp n really do e wonderful breakfast injustice.
I've been craving for ginger jam ever since Bryon treated us on our previous visit. How could I resist this refreshing & lightly sweetened scottish ginger jam? Previously, we spread e jam on our raisin scones n this time round, i tried to be innovative n thought to myself, "Why not ginger jam with orange ciabiatta?" Before I can even applaud myself for this creative combination, i find myself lamenting over e mistake i made... Well, ginger jam n orange ciabiatta taste great on their own but not together! The ginger jam was so overpowering tt it overwhelmed e orange ciabiatta. I could no longer taste e orange peel. I guess I should just stick to my scone with ginger jam next time.

A: The ciabiatta tasted best with their homemade kaya! Don't ever try to replace with jams! Jams are exclusively for scones only!

Ciabiatta with Kaya

Photobucket
This ciabiatta is oh-so-soft when we took e 1st bite. Just look at e air gaps inside e ciabiatta~ Unlike Cedele's ciabiatta which is toasted such tt e entire bread is crispier n drier, this ciabiatta is lightly toasted to give a slight crisp on its crust.

J: I wonder y this ciabiatta is much thicker than e orange ciabiatta. Hmmm... Anyone can enlighten me on this?

We simply loveeee their eggy kaya in contrast to e traditional sweeter smooth kaya tt we find in bakeries. The fragrance of e pandan, appropriate sweetness tt hits my tastebuds & e slight rough texture of e kaya won my heart over. They r really generous in e spread of kaya n i really appreciate tt! One minor complaint though, is tt e ciabiatta hardens upon cooling which means we gotta exercise my jaws harder. We should just order our second set after we finish e first next time so tt we can savour our food while they're still hot n fresh :)

Good Morning Nanyang Cafe also offer thick toast and they'll be adding french toast with nutella & bananas to their menu! (A: My favourite!!! haha!) OMG can u sense our excitement? We simply adore e nutella & banana crepe we had in paris n nv did we try it with french toast b4. We cant wait for it to be dished out soon~ (J: However, i will probably still prefer my traditional thick toast n french toast with peanut butter :P Will it win my heart over?)

Wondered how come we nv reviewed on their drinks before? We tried their kopi-o n teh-c on our 1st visit n unanimously agreed tt they arent thick or aromatic enough for us. Subsequently, we only ordered milo or horlicks kosong. Well, milo n horlicks cant go wrong right? :P

Next on our to-try-list: Thick toast, strawberry champagne jam, french toast with nutella & bananas!

J & A's ratings: 4.25/5 Ciabiatta with kaya

Cafe OIive III- Service improved?

J: After our 3rd visit to cafe oliv which left us feeling disappointed & unhappy over the food & service, we were invited to cafe oliv by kevin as a gesture of apology. Seriously for me, just the service alone determines my mood for tt meal. Last week's service totally turned me off n im glad tt kevin took our complaint seriously. Not only did he reprimand his staff, he even went as far as to install CCTV to keep a tab on them to make sure tt they dont slack n provide decent service to customers. This time round, u can really tell e vast difference in service. We were promptly attended to upon entering. Water was constantly refilled n they even changed our utensils & serviette after each course which never ever happened before! I must really applaud kevin for this major improvement in service but i certainly hope tt this is not just a one off kind of excellent service. Well, we shall see if we do continue to enjoy this kind of service n i would be glad to pay tt 10% service charge willingly.

Back to the food, everything is on the house today. Thanks Kevin!

Gratin Oliv Herb Butter Yolk Cheese Monray Escargot $9.90
Photobucket
1st mouth of this sauce intrigued me as I've totally no idea what it was. It smelled fragrant & light initially. The escargots were topped with mozzarella n their signature fried sweet potato strips which r present in all dishes. The fushion of this french dish with chinese spinach makes it really unique. Upon chatting with kevin, I found out tt e sauce is actually made from white wine, pesto, mushroom n lots of butter. He came up with this fushion as he thought spinach can go well with everything n y not escargots? His creativity amazed me. However, this dish failed to impress me for long. I felt satiated after a while n e mozzarella was too chewy for me. Sis felt tt e sauce was tad too salty due to e presence of pesto & mozzarella. The stems of the spinach also added a tinge of bitterness to it. I must agree with kevin tt e escargots if presented on its own may be too ordinary but i rmb eating escargots in paris on its own too! They were seasoned well n we had to use toothpicks to get e meat out from e shells. The flavors of e Paris escargots were definitely much more intense than what we had in cafe oliv. In my opinion, I thought perhaps it would go better with scallops, but its just me :)

Char-Grilled Honey Glazed Pork Belly Ribs with Barbeque Sauce $16.90 (half slab)

BBQ pork ribs coated with thick rich bbq sauce accompanied with daily greens and starch.
Photobucket

I ordered this dish with high anticipations as it was highly raved by many reviewers online. No doubt this was the most tender pork ribs I had in sg n u can easily separate e meat from e bones, but personally I felt tt it can be a little dry. The honey glaze added a tinge of sweetness to e ribs which was not too overpowering n i certainly enjoy eating it with their homemade BBQ sauce. However being a lazy person, I find eating this pork ribs too much of a hassle as there were many bones n separating e meat was a chore for me haha =X
A: This dish is kind of disappointing. I was expecting more from the sauce but it's just BBQ sauce. Nth really special. But I must say the pork ribs were really tender! Don't you think this looks a bit like char siew?? LOL
J's ratings: 4.25/5, A's rating: 4/5
Traditional Braised Lamb Shank 18.90
Tender herb braised lamb shank served with daily greens and starch.

Needless to say more about this baby? Click here for the review on our previous visit! This is simply heavenly & I just cant stop raving on how T-E-N-D-E-R this lamb shank is tt u can separate e meat from bones easily just using a fork & it literally melts in ur mouth! My top entree in cafe oliv!!! I must rmb to ask kevin whats e sauce used in my next visit~ I simply adore how mushy e mashed potatoes were tt went well w e greens n lamb shank :)
J & A's ratings: 4.8/5
Warm brownie with mocha chip ice cream $5.90
Photobucket

If u have read our previous posts on cafe oliv, u would have noticed tt this is our no 1 heavenly dessert not only in cafe oliv, but in sg! We love u sooooo much, baby. Today's scoop of ice cream was much bigger than e previous ones tt we had... soo big tt there were left over ice cream even when i finished my warm brownie! I was glad tt e waitress rmbed we enjoy this baby being served warm n specifically inform e chef. Unlike last week's brownie which was sooo dense tt tasted like choc pound cake or even being close to a kueh, today's brownie tasted e best among all e visits. It was much softer, warmer n choked FULL of big chunky walnuts inside! I would never get sick of eating this~ Kevin told us tt e brownie was actually bought from outside n sometimes e supplier will change e chocolate used for e brownie. However, a change in choc shouldnt change e texture of e brownie too much right? Last week's brownie was a total disaster. Seriously even if u give it to me for free i wouldnt want it. They usually freeze e brownie n warm it when there's order n they keep e brownie for 2-3 days. I suspect tt last wk's brownie was kept longer than its shelf life but well, who knows? I hope e standard can be maintained this way soo tt i will go back for more =P

328 Katong Laksa - What is your opinion on this?

A: Headed down to try out the famous 328 Katong Laksa after hearing so many good reviews on it. We ordered a medium bowl of laksa, $4 and it came with generous amount of prawns! 7 or 8 prawns at least! The laksa here does not have tau pok which I like and we had it without cockles.

Actually there's nothing really fantastic to this bowl of laksa. When i ate it, it's just "laksa lor". haha..not sure of what others would think about it. The chilli was quite salty and not fragrance enough. Gravy was good though, not too heavy despite of the coconut milk.

What is your opinion on 328 laksa?

New Green Pasture Cafe- We are healthy babies! We love our greens~~

We discovered this organic vegetarian a few months ago and we glad we tried it! Patronised many times already because we can't resist the delicious food! In short, we're hooked!
New Green Pasture Cafe was opened by Sophia Teh, lady boss.
She can be friendly and funny at times BUT beware when she's in bad mood. We could still remember how unfriendly she was on our 1st visit and how welcoming & cheerful she was on other days. Haha..

They specialise in organic food, vegetables & emphasize that they are
MSG free, Low Fat & Low Salt!
Top dish: Soba Salad, $7.50!
We love the soba salad! It has a sweet tangy sauce that blends very well with the soba noodles & the greens. There were plenty of vegetables in the soba salad such as dou miao, carrots, pomelo, baby tomatoes, beetroots, seaweeds etc. And the best part was the crunchy brown rice crackers which we enjoyed most!
(J: I love e pomelo & I'm always digging for them!)

A's rating: 4.75/5, J's rating: 4.6/5

No. 2: Brown Rice Set, $7.50
It was the unpolished brown rice served with different vegetables. We like the unpolished brown rice with the husk as it is crunchier compared to the normal brown rice. The vegetables? Hmmm, ordinary & can be slightly bland to some of u but hey, tts healthy! =P Pls pardon us for e unglamorous pics as they were taken using our handphones. Will update again when I retake using my camera.
J's & A's rating: 4.5/5

We tried this new dish yesterday & it made it to our top 3 list! Golden Pillow, $8 was made by using 5 grains bread (almonds, sunflower seeds, walnut, sesame seeds & e last we arent v sure. Shall ask Sophia e next time we visit again), toasted and stuffed with the various veggies. The sauce used for Golden Pillow was different from the soba salad and seaweed roll. It was sweet and slightly spicy. The 5 grain bread was the best we had tasted so far! Even better than Cedele's bread! Perfectly toasted to give the crispiness on the outside and the bread is soo soft inside tt u can actually easily split e loaf into half despite it having e texture of a french loaf! So crunchy with e nuts inside the bread! The serving itself is HUGE. Got to share it with someone so that you could try other dishes as well!

Seaweed roll (Vegetarian sushi roll w/o rice) $4.50
This is another dish that ladies would like. It has the sweet tangy sauce found in the soba salad combined with the different vegetables. (A: It would make a good starter in my opinion. Very appetising!)

Walnut Sesame Paste, $2.50
People who would like to try a healthier black sesame paste gotta try this! The walnut sesame paste here was made from freshly grind black sesame and cooked using soya milk! It was not too sweet and heavy from the normal black sesame paste but you could still taste the individual sesame seeds! However, their quality can be inconsistent at times.

Pumpkin Chestnut Brown Rice, $9.50
(A: I love pumpkin! What I like about this dish was the nice fragrance of pumpkin mixed with the brown rice. Chunks of chestnuts could also be found in the rice.)
(J: I love e crunch from e chestnuts which added e nutty fragrance to e brown rice. However, this brown rice is alr polished & lacked e crunchy bite unlike e brown rice set.)

Bi Bim Bap (Hot Stone Rice), $9.50
Just like the normal korea Bi Bim Bap, the ones here was served with a spicy sauce as well but it tasted better on its own! Instead of meat and egg which is normally found in bi bim bap, mock meat (tofu) and chestnuts were used instead. Piping hot rice mixed with the greens. Couldn't stopped ourselves from eating!
(J: I love e charred rice at e bottom of e hot stone!)
