Alexandra Hainanese Chicken Rice- The Best White Chicken
4 words:
Tender, juicy, succulent and moist.
The ultimate hainanese chicken!
Tender, juicy, succulent and moist.
The ultimate hainanese chicken!
Needless to say, they have one of the best hainanese chicken in Singapore.
And for merely $3 per plate, it was such a good deal!
The soy sauce here was milder and sweeter compared to the one we had in Wee Nam Kee. We would prefer the sauce to be more savoury as we like to drench our rice with the soy sauce. The rice, to our dismay, was too sticky and mushy. We prefer the grains to be firmer. It lacked the strong aroma of what chicken rice should have. It was unsatisfying but the succulent chicken definitely made up for it! The chilli was good and gave us the kick!
(A: My ears were burning red after eating!)
This will be our favourite hainanese white chicken rice. For roasted chicken rice, we will go for Wee Nam Kee.
J's rating: 4.5/5 chicken, 3/5 rice, A’s rating: 4.75/5 chicken, 3.5/5 for rice

Wee Nam Kee Hainanese Chicken Rice- Our favourite roasted chicken rice stall
J: I've been patronising this chicken rice stall for years since my temporary job at iras. It used to cost $3.50 a plate and now its $4.80! Power of inflation huh? *faint* Wee Nam Kee was always very crowded during lunch time and even till now, business is still as brisk. If I were to choose a roasted chicken rice stall, Wee Nam Kee is the place.
We dropped by this place since we were in the vicinity. Luckily we didn't have to wait too long for seats since we had a slightly late lunch. As usual, the portion of roasted chicken thigh was really huge. It seemed like twice the size of a normal chicken lol. Their roasted chicken thigh never fail to disappoint us. The chicken was perfectly roasted till the skin is crispy. The meat is very tender and juicy but not too oily. We also love the soy sauce that they used which complemented really well with the chicken rice. However, the chicken rice fell short of its usual standard that day. It was rather hard and dry. But we managed to polish it off our plates anyway haha.
A: The sambal chilli was super spicy & shiok! Can't really go wrong on the chilli right? haha
