Sweet Indulgence I- Bakerzin

Photobucket
Desserts are just like sunshine after the rain.
So elegant, dainty and graceful.
We fall in love with them just at one glance...
They are simply alluring...

Bakerzin’s desserts may not be the best of all but it always has a super attractive monthly promotion. 50% promotion for all its classic dessert in august! How can we ever miss that out??

Just 1 day before the promotion ended, we finally dragged our feet out of the house and made our way there. Unfortunately, the outlet ran out of vanilla ice-cream that day and we had to choose other flavours for our desserts.
Coupe Cheesecake $9.80++
Tart filled with cheesecake ice-cream drizzled with strawberry sauce. Cheesecake ice-cream was pleasant except that the tart was a little hard.

Baked Apple Tart $9.80++
This was the second time we ate this dessert. Thin crust of apple tart served warm with a scoop of ice-cream. Generous amount of baked apple was filling but somehow the dessert was not up to expectation that day. Ice-cream was a little tiny to our surprise.

Warm Chocolate Cake $9.80++
Warm chocolate cake is Bakerzin’s award winning dessert and this ought to be the highlight for the day. However, it lacks the "shiok" factor as the rich chocolate was more thick than molten.

A’s rating: 3.75/5, J's rating: 3.5/5

We must compliment Bakerzin for their effort in dressing up each individual dessert beautifully. However, we feel that the quality of their desserts is not consistent. There are times when we feel that their desserts are absolutely fantastic and other times it simply turns us off. But still, Bakerzin is not a bad place to hang out with friends or family on a lazy weekend afternoon.

Wow, u just turned on my dessert radar... and sob, I realized it is now September and that I have missed the August promotion...

Apart from the warm chocolate cake, the first two desserts are new on the menu? Don't recall seeing them. The pink stick-like (meringue?) reminds me of L'Amour ice-cream of Canele...

Hmm... seems like you got a chocolate ice-cream served with the warm chocolate cake... I thought it has always been Vanilla...

A - Fen: haha..they're not new on the menu. It's just that they didn't show the picture in the menu.

Yup. The pink stick was meringue. We enjoyed more of the cheesecake ice-cream. Very unique and tasty.

Apparently they ran out of vanilla ice-cream that day. So they change it to chocolate ice-ceam. Otherwise, all desserts are served with vanilla ice-cream.
